Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,035.71 points on Friday, up by 4.26 points, or 0.21%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index had climbed 1.34% for another record closing of 2,031.44 points on Thursday, with a daily trading volume of approximately 51.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.72 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.8710 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.8060 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also spiked to 15.6640 from 15.6040, while one British pound traded for 18.3740 Turkish liras, up from 18.2820.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $74.12 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
