Morocco suspends commercial flights with Russia

Moroccan authorities have suspended commercial flights with Russia, the Russian Embassy in Rabat said in a statement Tuesday on Facebook.

The embassy said the decision only includes direct flights between the two countries but did not give additional details about the reason for the suspension.

In May, Russian authorities announced a resumption of commercial flights with eight countries, including Morocco, after a period of flights' suspension as part of Russian health measures to curb the coronavirus pandemic.

Russia modified its decision in September and conditioned the entry of passengers from Morocco to direct flights or a transit flight via Belarus.
