US thanks Azerbaijan for help during Afghanistan evacuations

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland thanked Azerbaijan for its support during the evacuation of American citizens from Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Nuland also noted via her official Twitter account that she was glad to meet with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

The meeting between Nuland and Bayramov took place on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on September 21.

This August, the Taliban rapidly took control of Afghanistan during the U.S. troop withdrawal from the country, ending a 20-year military presence, culminating in a series of hasty evacuations of foreign nationals from the country.
