Mexican driver Sergio Perez clinched the first Grand Prix win of his career in the Sakhir Grand Prix on Sunday.

Perez of Racing Point team finished the 87-lap Grand Prix at 1: 31:15, which was held at Bahrain International Circuit on a 3.5-kilometer (2.2-mile) long track, located in the desert region of Sakhir, 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the capital Manama.

Renault's Esteban Ocon came second -- 10.5 seconds behind Perez -- while Racing Point's Lance Stroll finished in third with 11.8 seconds behind the winner.

With this result, French driver Ocon got his first podium in Formula 1 history.

The virus-hit 2020 season will end after Round 17 in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 13.

On Nov. 15, Lewis Hamilton won the 2020 F1 title in the Turkish Grand Prix at Intercity Istanbul Park.

Hamilton surpassed the legend Michael Schumacher's victories record of 91 and currently has 95 wins to his name.

Romain Grosjean to miss Abu Dhabi GP

France's Romain Grosjean will not be at the final Grand Prix of 2020 after he suffered injuries in a fiery crash in Bahrain last weekend.

"It is with great sadness that I will not be able to do my final race in Abu Dhabi and be with the team there," Grosjean said on formula1.com.

"We’ve tried as much as we could with the doctor to recover and to repair my hand, but the risk of racing is too big for my recovery and my health," he added.

The 34-year-old was taken to a hospital after suffering burns to both hands when his car was split into two pieces and exploded into a fireball after he plunged into the barriers on the track.
