A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces during an anti-settlement demonstration in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Friday.

The ministry said that the victim, identified as Mohammad Khabisa, 28, was shot in his head and rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Munir al-Jaghoub, the head of Information Department at the Fatah's Office of Mobilization and Organization, said Khabisa was shot while he was participating in a rally in the Beita village against the Israeli settlement plans.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said on Friday its medical teams dealt with 28 injured in Beita, one of them was Khabisa who later succumbed to his injuries.

The Beita village witnesses almost daily rallies by Palestinians and activities against plans to construct an Israeli settlement on the Mt. Sbeih near the village.

According to the Israeli and Palestinian estimates, there are about 650,000 settlers in West Bank settlements, including occupied Jerusalem, who live in 164 settlements and 116 outposts.
