Syrian oppositions join combat against Assad forces in Aleppo

At least 76 soldiers loyal to Syrian President Assad are killed after a joint operation that was executed by the most dominant opposition groups, FSA and Aharar al-Sham

Syrian opposition groups seized the historical “Old Aleppo" areas in the city of Aleppo from the forces loyal to the Assad regime and continue to advance toward the city center controlled by the regime forces, Captain Abu Yasir, an opposition commander said.



One of the field commanders of the first Regiment of the Free Syrian Army, or FSA, Captain Abu Yasir, said the FSA, one of the most dominant opposition groups in Aleppo and the Islamic Movement of the Free Men of the Levant, or Ahrar al-Sham, combated jointly against the Assad forces in the area.



He said they targeted the headquarters of the regime forces in the area. He stated that the buildings which were used as the Assad forces' offices were destroyed after they detonated the bombs placed under the building by digging tunnels.



The buildings including the telephone building has been using as a headquarters by the regime forces and the 83rd Center used by the Republic Guards were totally destroyed. “Now we are advancing forward to the center of the city," Yasir said.



He stated that the blasts killed at least 76 soldiers from the regime forces. “The Assad forces took the dead bodies to al-Hamadaniye Hospital and then sent them to Humus, Tartus and Latakia. He also said that most of their friends were wounded during the clashes with the Assad forces.



Yasir said the retaking of Idlib and Jisr al-Shughur by the oppositions has increased their spirituality and underlined they will continue fighting against the Assad forces until they take full control of the city.
